We did it! We reached our £25,000 target in 4 years instead of 5…. A staggering amount and it wouldn’t have been possible without the support from family, friends and the people of Tameside and beyond, we had guests from around the UK, joining us for what was for us The Gala Ball of the year! Captain Jack aka Paul Bann and Bella aka Keeley Hopkins welcomed the guests at the entrance in the shadows of the Purple Ball of Hope Memory Tree containing an array of violet and purple glass baubles each one containing remembrance messages of past loved ones.
The Compare for the evening who is now an old friend of the Purple Ball Mr Paul Crone and while the champagne flowed and the meals were served the dinner entertainment provided by X Factor contestant Rick Moorhouse was a pleasant interlude before the serious bidding got underway and topping the auction prizes was ‘Ollie’ the wooden owl who received a £360 from a generous donor. Robbie Williams concert tickets and ‘Funny Girl’ Musical tickets were also a popular choice for sealed bids.
